2026 ML Challenge
Welcome to a competition where data scientists, machine learning enthusiasts, AI engineers, and football analysts compete to build the most accurate predictive model for the biggest sporting event in the world.
Participants will develop machine learning models capable of predicting match outcomes and tournament events. The most accurate models rise to the top of the leaderboard.
About The Competition
Organized as part of the MuLearn Hackathon ecosystem. Unlike traditional fantasy leagues, this competition evaluates the performance of machine learning models using a structured scoring framework designed to reward both accuracy and statistical insight.

This challenge is part of MuLearn. Participants who submit their ML notebook, methodology, and final predictions in the MuLearn Discord community will receive MuLearn Karma Points. If you are not part of the MuLearn community, please register through mulearn.org.
How It Works

What Must Be Predicted?
Two things per match, across all 16 knockout matches from the Round of 16 onward.
Scoring System
Each match is scored on two things: the exact final score and the exact set of goal scorers. Later-stage matches receive higher multipliers, meaning knockout-stage predictions become increasingly valuable.

Submission Rules
- One prediction set per participant.
- Submission deadline is before the knockout stage begins.
- You can re-upload to update your predictions any time before the deadline.
- Invalid submissions will be rejected.
Fair Play
Participants may use any legal and ethical data sources. The use of ML, DL, statistical models, and AI systems is encouraged.
Any attempt to manipulate platform data, rankings, or submissions may result in immediate disqualification.
